The description of my project

What is the project ?

I want to develop a website which facilitate the way to found a crafstperson. Indeed it will be a platform with craftsperson lined up by category. Customers just need to make a research and they will found all craftsperson closed to them. Moreover craftsperson will have a rating based on the opinion of their former customers.

What benefits does the project bring to its users ?

This project will make easier the way to look for a craftsperson. As a matter of fact looking for a good craftsman could be difficult when we don't have any relationship or advice. Besides customers avoid swindles thanks to comments of other users of the platform. Customers have also a panoramic view on all craftspersons to make a better choice. To sum up it is a kind of Tripadvisor about craftspersons.

What is the project's context?

In a context of Covid_19 pandemic, people are staying at home thus they give more attention to their house. Consequently they are likely more tempted by renovating their house and the project will be able to help them.

The technologies involved

To do that, we will use APIs, especially the platform Zapier in order to treat data. Indeed in a google sheet, we will classify all craftsperson by category of job field with their rating and the former customer's comments. When a field will be send by on the website, the API will treat the data and send back to the user all the corresponding craftspersons.

To create a zapier, you have to :

  1. Create an account on the platform Zapier
  2. Create a new zap on Zapier
  3. Search and select Webhooks
  4. Click on the "Catch Raw Hook" button
  5. Copy the link and click on "Continue"
  6. Paste the link in your Java script part of the code of the platform, under the function "fetch"
  7. Type some text on the website
  8. Click on "Test trigger"
  9. Connect the Zapier to a "Google sheet"

The possible impediments to the success of this project

Similar websites exist already, indeed there is Travaux à la maison for example. The website gather craftspersons and provide to customers a service which facilitate the access to the craftspersons. Nevertheless the trend shows a shift in customer's mentality, nowadays customers are mostly looking for a craftsperson on website. For example, this french article Le moniteur explains this trend. Consequently this market is wide so with lot of advertsing and an intuitive website this project can overcome the competition
